Crisis Resources

If immediate assistance is needed anytime of the day or night, call 911!

For 24-Hour Mental Health or Substance Use Assistance, you may also go to your closest hospital emergency room.

For under 18, go to Brenner Children's Emergency Department at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. 

Lifeline (National Suicide Prevention)

988 Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free, confidential support for people in distress. They provide prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones.

  • Ask for a CIT (“Crisis Intervention Team”) Officer. They have received extra training for these situations. 

United Way of North Carolina

United Way of NC provides a free, confidential service that is available in most languages to assist in obtaining information on health and human services and resources within all 100 counties in NC.

SAMHSA'S National Helpline

For individuals and families facing mental and/or substance use disorders, SAMHSA is a free, confidential, 24/7, 365‐day‐a‐year treatment referral and information service.

National Sexual Assault Hotline

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline and also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

Crisis Text Line

Crisis Text Line is a free national organization providing free, confidential, counseling, 24/7.

The Trevor Project
