Heal your mind.

with mental health counseling

Mental Health Counseling

At The Holistic Hive, the primary service I offer is traditional talk therapy—where healing begins with the mind. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina, dedicated to providing compassionate and individualized support. Specializing in both individual and group counseling for people ages 16 and up, I deeply believe in the transformative power of therapy and am committed to helping individuals navigate their journey toward personal growth and well-being.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in May 2024. Prior to graduating, I gained hands-on experience through a 200-hour practicum at a group private practice and a 600-hour internship at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) Counseling Services, accumulating a total of 300 direct client hours. After completing my degree, I continued providing counseling to adolescents and young adults at UNCSA before establishing my private practice. These clinical experiences strengthened my expertise in both individual and group counseling, allowing me to work with a diverse range of clients.

Throughout my clinical practice, I have supported adolescents and adults facing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, identity exploration, personality and mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), spirituality, substance use (for individuals and family members), body image concerns, career development, life transitions, stress, and other related issues.

Before becoming a mental health counselor, I spent most of my career in higher education, where I discovered my passion for helping others achieve their goals and dreams. I find great fulfillment in guiding individuals toward meaningful solutions and equipping them with skills that foster positive transformation. I believe that each person is the expert of their own life, shaped by their unique experiences, and I am honored to walk alongside them on their journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to counseling is rooted in person-centered therapy, emphasizing a trusting relationship and addressing each client’s unique needs. I offer integrative psychotherapy, ensuring that every session is tailored to you as an individual and your specific circumstances. Drawing from various therapeutic approaches, I create a warm, empathetic, and safe space where you can explore your concerns and experience deep healing.

My theoretical orientation is intuitive, eclectic, and highly personalized. While person-centered therapy serves as the foundation, I often incorporate behavioral methods such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. Together, we will examine how your history and life experiences have shaped your thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns. These evidence-based techniques are designed to enhance self-awareness, empower you with greater freedom in your choices, and support you in achieving your counseling goals.

I take a holistic, whole-person approach to therapy, addressing the eight domains of wellness: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, vocational, financial, and environmental. Within this framework, I often integrate somatic and mindfulness-based interventions to strengthen the mind-body connection, provide effective coping strategies, and complement the therapeutic process.

Above all, my goal is to provide the highest quality mental health care within a nurturing therapeutic relationship. I believe in

collaboration— working together to ease emotional and behavioral distress while empowering you to unlock your potential and embrace your true self.

CBT

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a common type of talk therapy that helps clients become aware of "distortions" or negative thoughts that lead to unhelpful patterns so they can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a modern adaptation of behavioral therapy with an action-oriented approach that focuses on self-acceptance, personal values, and mindfulness exercises to encourage building a more compassionate relationship with difficult experiences.

DBT

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is an evidence based treatment modality that is derived from CBT with the emphasis on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.

SE

Somatic experiencing is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection between the mind and body and uses psychotherapy, neurobiological, and physical based coping skills as a holistic approach to healing the nervous system.
